Who Is Chimmey?
Its me- Charmaine Hank Williams as the world has come to know me… yes its says “Hank Williams”, you’re eyes didn’t deceive you- no I’m not related to the country star (cue laughs)- its actually my maiden name and married name put together. It was never my plan to keep both names intentionally, but after my employer slapped both my names together in my email heading, info cards and other work paraphernalia- it just kinda stuck. So there we are.
Nickname Origin.
Once upon a time a little brown creole girl with big curls and a big smile was given a nickname “Chimmey Charmainey” by her glamorous Auntie who we will call for now “The Nanny”. After many summer vacation adventures between Lake Charles, Louisiana; Houston, Texas and Flint, Michigan- it became an endearing term that grew their bond for life.
Over the years, I fell in and out of love for the moniker, and took pride with it around my family, but shyly hid it from from friends in school who didn’t know me as such…
HIS path + HerSTORY.
Fast forward quite a few years, military moves, and you’ll find me settled in the beautifully hot city of Las Vegas, NV with a new niche of myself and in the name. A beacon of God’s light and love wrapped up in a new mode of self expression.
